NEW WESTERN ATLANTIC - After just four months of being in the anti-raiding organisation of FORGE, the New Western Atlantic is on pace to terminating our membership as the current vote tally is holding steady for the leave side of this referendum.
The leave side of the referendum believe FORGE is outdated and no longer is useful nor beneficial in its ability to protect the region from raiders, as seen in the numerous takeovers all across Nationstates where FORGE was unable to overtake raiders in their quest of conquering entire regions one-by-one. Another argument made by the proponents of exiting FORGE is that the organisation in and of itself is not widely respected across Nationstates, and they believe that if we are to leave the defense pact then the New Western Atlantic could expand its embassy count and increase the region's publicity as one of the more premium regions across the globe. Opponents of the referendum, or the remain side, has aggressively countered the reasons on we should leave the organisation by noting that the only reason FORGE has not been a net positive on our region is because this government has not sought to increase the region's involvement in the organisation. They also point to that our region has seen tremendous success without being globally-connected, and that this government should not pander to foreign entities that see the New Western Atlantic making a mistake by having membership in FORGE.
