New Western Atlantic - With the polling now officially closed, the Activist party has toppled the Constructive party in the occasionally asked Party Affiliation Census poll. Recent polling was actually quite accurate as the most recent poll by our competitor RNN found that the Activist party held a 30% to 28% lead over the arguably the most dominate party in the region's history... Constructive.
Listed below is the final tally of the vote . . . Activist: 31.0% (9 votes) Constructive: 27.6% (8 votes) Lib-Dem: 20.7% (6 votes) Nationalist: 6.9% (2 votes) Communist: 6.9% (2 votes) Individualist: 6.9% (2 votes) The only clear interpretation here is that the right wing is now completely scattered between three different parties: Constructive (mainstream), Regional Nationalist Party (RNP), and the newest Individualist party. This is definitely good news if you're an Activist though, no doubt. What's also surprising is just how well the Lib-Dems held slightly above 20% of the vote, and just how poorly the once-competitive RNP did. Even RNN's poll had the RNP at double-digits, but in the census they couldn't even muster 7%. Bob Dylan once said "Times are a-changin'" and in the NWA's politics, that is so true, as for the first time ever the Activist party is arguably the most dominant party... for now.

New Western Atlantic - The NWA's Founder has officially ruled that the proposed amendment to the constitution is not legitimate as his interpretation of the region's constitution is that WA and non-WA nations alike are both allowed to vote in any poll, regardless of its purpose. UDR invoked the rarely mentioned Article IV; clause I which states . . .
"All citizens have the right to vote in any public election, and all other regional polls." As you can see, there is little to interpret here as the constitution clearly allows all nations to vote in any poll, WA status is irrelevant. The issue should be raised however that the amendment dealt with whether non-WA nations could hold elected office, which according to the Founder may be voted it--but WA and non-WA nations both should have a say. Wrote by RBC's Dertas New Western Atlantic - Raiders have for far too long plagued NationStates in almost every way imaginable, but you have to give them some credit, they've successfully branded themselves at the most hated in NationStates. Though the World Assembly and their super delegates follow closely behind.
From the infamous Black Riders to DEN, and even the smaller scale raiding regions, they have caused a lot of upset throughout many regions. But like a city on a shining hill, the New Western Atlantic has never been touched. The same cannot be said for our counterparts over in the Empire of Oppression, where they've been raided on several occasions. Regardless of your political leanings, one must give credit to the progressive policies in preventing any raiders from entering the region. Whether it was the Brotherhood of Kyro, Baconbacon, United Dark Republic, and even Heisenbee; these four previous administrations have helped strengthen our region's defenses and have helped us on that front. It is fair to assume that we're all collectively hoping that the new PM Ostermeer can continue this streak of upholding our anti-raiding regional defenses. Wrote by RBC's Engium New Western Atlantic -- A recently brought up question by the far-right wing nation of Grand Rebels has now caused a lot of confusion and intense speculation that the scandal-ridden Zacharandex and M.O.D. candidate James "Maddog" Mattis are both the same person.
The role play coordinator and staunch Mattis supporter, Calponia, went on record to say... "Mattis I hope you don't lose your trustworthiness." Which by any normal indication means that there may be a dash of forewarning there, and that the report is most likely true. Mattis is set to address these rumors this evening. Wrote by Engium New Western Atlantic · Revelations are coming up about Zacharandex's past, yet again. The last time he was embroiled in a scandal was under his tenure as vice-delegate, now known as deputy premier. That was about his choice of words to a handful of the region's citizens, including the founder himself where he had this to say . . .
"[UDR] Keeper of the peace? we should change your title to "The Regional Pocket Pussy" . Dont tell me what my jurisdiction is" Since this happened back in the Empire of Oppression's days, it took him over a year to even apologize. It isn't even known about UDR's true feelings about him, but we probably won't know that answer anytime soon. This time though, it isn't words that are upsetting people. It's action. A recent report has surfaced that Zacharandex (James "Maddog" Mattis) illegally voted multiple times for himself in a prior election, and not surprisingly the Activist party's chairman, Hevern, had something to say about it . . . " Zacharandex voted for himself multiple times in an election before, so it is very hypocritical for him to falsely say that all 'activists are puppets' when he has has fraudulently voted before... you can't make this stuff up." Fearing that he may now lose the Minister of Diplomacy race, James "Maddog" Mattis is set to speak before the region at 5:30 ET. Written by Dertas |
