NEW WESTERN ATLANTIC - Senate Majority Leader BillNyeLand (A) has faced backlash following his defense of DSA, a region that splintered off from the New Western Atlantic. While his freedom of speech should be respected, opponents of the senator argue that he illegally had ties with DSA and disobeyed the Prime Minister's executive order that all ties to DSA are to be cut off.
The senator counters his alleged illegal ties by noting that there were no clear guidelines established in the order, and points out that he eventually withdrew himself from any DSA involvement. It is also worth mentioning that he had made his original puppet nation of Sheepolia publicly known; which puts into question whether he actually had any intentions of wrongdoing. The impeachment proceedings are being pushed by Trump and Pence (C), who is a known opponent of BillNyeLand, and both have a relationship of despising each other ever since their days in the Pacific Alliance which eventually became inactive. Trump and Pence has called on residents to vote for not only impeachment, but outright deportation. Many residents point out that impeachment, much less deportation, is too extreme considering the possibility that he might not have even committed a crime.

NEW WESTERN ATLANTIC - Veteran politician and the recently reelected Diplomacy Minister, Norrizi, has stepped down from office after the region's highest court voted 2 to 0 in favor of finding him guilty. The court did not require that the Minister step down immediately, but rather he could not seek reelection.
In a move seen to have defied his opponents and the Judiciary, he has stepped down from office while critiquing the right wing High Court which has became noticeably partisan in its recent decisions. By doing this the Minister will be allowed to run come the next general election, and he has vowed to stand once again. Despite the court's decision, it seems as if a majority of the public supports the now-former Diplomacy Minister as many voiced their support of Norrizi in the RMB. Even the Founder weighed in on the subject, as he voiced soft skepticism of the court's verdict. |
