NEW WESTERN ATLANTIC - Founder and reigning Monarch of the New Western Atlantic, United Dark Republic, has reached an historic one full year as WA Delegate. His contributions to the region are well known and he continues to be respected by most across party lines. Several notable figures like Calponia, Traffia, and Dukna congratulated His Majesty's milestone; one going as far to say none of the success the region has seen would be achievable without him. A few of the message board posts can be seen below: While UDR continues his reign, in an interview with the Kyro Telegraph he mentioned that he wants to focus on doing more of the same like making government more representative of the residents and continuing to help newer immigrants as they try and determine whether or not to settle in the region.

NEW WESTERN ATLANTIC - Prime Minister Riost (Act) will be head of government for another six months as he successfully fended off his main competitor Silver Eagles (RFP), a populist firebrand that surged and amassed an impressive share of the vote due to a corruption scandal that involved the Constructive and Liberal Democratic nominees for Prime Minister. Riost won a majority of the vote on the first ballot, an impressive feat that was considered to have been within reach but still considered unlikely by most. By winning over half the vote, the Prime Minister was able to avoid a second round runoff and therefore win reelection. His mandate to govern and his legacy has been cemented as he's the first Activist Prime Minister to serve more than one term, and he heads into his final term with an Activist-controlled senate.
Prime Minister Election — Declared {99 votes cast} Riost (Act): 56.6% (56 votes) ✔ Silver Eagles (RFP): 30.3% (30 votes) Russian Empire (Lib): 9.1% (9 votes) Trump and Pence (Con): 4.0% (4 votes) While the Prime Minister election wasn't close, the cabinet races were significantly more contested however. The Constructivists retained Immigration Minister and Communications Minister; meanwhile the Activists held onto Justice Minister while picking up Diplomacy Minister from the Social Equalists. Thornian would soon announce that he'd be leaving the Constructivists and joining the Activists, a move that is still considered unusual and drew criticism from both sides of the aisle. This now gives the Activists a majority in the cabinet, something they have never had in regional history. All Ministerial Races — Declared {384 votes cast} Activist: 45.1% (173 votes) Constructive: 34.9% (134 votes) Liberal Democratic: 13.5% (52 votes) Regional Front: 5.5% (21 votes) Social Equality: 1.0% (4 votes) The senate election was especially enlightening on the future of Atlantican politics, and the trend continued in this election as the Activists once again outperformed expectations and went on to win by double-digits. The Activists were unable to win an outright majority though, but they still won more seats than any other party. In fact, the Activists won as many seats as the Constructivists and Liberal Democrats combined. Listed below shows the results of the senate election along with a comparison of how well they performed compared to the midterm in September. Senate Election — Declared {113 votes} Activist: 38.1% (🡅 6.4) Constructive: 25.7% (🡇 7.0) Liberal Democratic: 18.6% (🡅 0.8) Regional Front: 8.8% (🡇 2.1) Social Equality: 8.8% (🡅 1.9) |
